1.        What meaning is the scene trying to portray?

The scene is trying to portray Rocky’s courage and hopefulness while he is training. The continuity of the montage, with sound, creates this illusion that he is becoming stronger by dad. We see the success of his training towards the end of the montage while he is jumping with joy on the top of the stairs.

 

2.        Does the music enhance the scene? Why or why not?

Yes, the music does enhance the scene. We see Rocky’s efforts match the music – the music at the end becomes louder, highlighting his success. The lyrics even emphasize Rocky becoming stronger each time throughout the montage, adding to his triumph at the end of the scene

 

3.        Does the music enhance the scenes meaning? Why or why not?

Yes, the music enhances the scenes meaning. Throughout the montage, the music remains positive, encouraging Rocky to push through the training he must endure for his fight/boxing match. When Rocky reaches the top of the stairs, the music matches the scene, adding to the triumphant moment.

1.        What meaning is the scene trying to portray?

 The meaning the scene portrays is an intense fight between the good and bad. We see the duo, in leather, fighting the cops and causing a lot of damage. In this montage the duo is successful and is able to take control of the lobby area.

 

2.        Does the music enhance the scene? Why or why not?

Yes, the music does enhance the scene. The music has a fast and intense beat that makes the fight more intense and adds entertainment. The fight is happening very quickly, and the music matches the pace which adds to the intensity.

Yes, the music does enhance the scenes meaning. The music emphasizes how intense the scene is while the characters are still being silent. The gunshots go along with the music as it creates an atmosphere of battle as the fight is between a group of good and bad people.

The Matrix without Music

1.        What meaning is the scene trying to portray

 The meaning the scene portrays is an intense e fought between the good and bad. We see the duo, in leather, fighting the cops and causing a lot of damage. In this montage the duo is successful and is able to take control of the lobby area.

 

2.        Does the music enhance the scene? Why or why not?

The lack of music did not enhance the scene. The lack of music did not help intensify the scene. Without music, there was an emphasis on the duos control over the situation. However, when certain fight scenes slowed down, those scenes felt random and out of order.

 

3.        Does the music nuance the scenes meaning? Why or why not?

The lack of music enhanced the scene because the duo had more control over the fight scene. The focus was on the fighting, the destruction, and the gun sounds while they were taking control of the lobby. However, without the music, the montage created this feeling that the scene was missing something/lacked/lacked finality.

 

4.        How does the lack of music take meaning away from these scenes?

The lack of music made it difficult for the audience to distinguish between the good and bad guys. Despite the scene seeming more realistic, the lack of sound makes it difficult to establish a relationship with the characters as an audience member. Overall, following the key scenes throughout the montage became very difficult.

 

Rocky Training without Music

The scene is trying to portray Rocky’s courage and hopefulness while while he is training. The continuity of the montage, with sound, creates this illusion that he is only becoming stronger day by day. We see the success of his training towards the end of the montage while he is jumping with joy in the top of the stairs.

 

2.        Does the music enhance the scene? Why or why not?

The lack of music enhances the scene. It made the scene seem more realistic as it portrayed how it would be if you were present in the moment. However, it did make the scene seem a little unentertaining and uneventful.

 

3.        Does the music enhance the scenes meaning? Why or why not?

The lack of music does not enhance the meaning of the scene. Without music, the scene comes off more realistic and the training scenes ere unexciting. However, the lack of music did put the audience in a place where they felt the realism of how it would have been being in the main characters position.

 

4.        Hoes does the lack of music takes away excitement from the scene. Without music, all that is heard is talking and footsteps and other foley. This adds a sort of awkwardness to the scene and makes it less entertaining to watch.
