 FIRST ASSIGNMENT FOR FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO

THE  BARBIE MOVIE (2023)

1.        There are no titles displayed in the opening sequence of this film.

2.        There are the kids from the past playing with baby dolls and a huge Barbie in a desert-like place.

3.        The kids from the old days playing with the baby dolls show how they had  very limited role play and they could play as mothers to the baby dolls.

4.        The genre is shown through the images .

5.        The huge Barbie may come as a mystery to many. Why is it so large and why is it there some may ask

6.        The large Barbie grabs the audiences attention

7.        The editing of Barbie was used to show meaning and so does the transitions from kid to kid as they play as mothers to their baby dolls.

SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING (2017)

1.        There is a total of 0 titles displayed other than the company/producer names.

2.        There were multiple images shown in this opening sequence such as the drawing of the last avengers scene that a kid drew, the construction of Tony Starks building and more.

3.        The drawing is almost like a recap of the last movie. The construction shows all the destruction and repairing that needs to be done.

4.        The genre is portrayed through the music and symbols of aliens and hero’s

5.        It may come as a mystery as to what has happened and who these people are exactly and why they are important but nothing gives off a very mysterious vibe in the opening sequence. The picture may also be a mystery

6.        The target audience may know about the drawing and what has happened so the film does not say specifically

7.        The camera angles show that the whole place is getting rebuilt and that there is nothing happening yet.

AVENGER (2012)

1.        There is a total of 1 title displayed during the opening sequence

2.        The marvel comic pages flipping through. We also see the tesseract which is the blue cube. We saw Loki getting his staff.

3.        The comic book images portray that the movie is Marvel and was a comic book before along with most of the other Marvel movies. The tesseract represents power and has an important impact later on in the film

4.        The genre of action is shown though the symbols and images as well as the suspenseful music and movement of the camera.

5.        The film shows the tesseract which is a mysterious object because the audience may not know what exactly it is and what it may be used for. It also shows the staff being handed from one person to another which is also mysterious

6.        Suspense and mystery. This keeps us on the edge of our seats and wanting to know more and keep watching

7.        The camera movements and angles are very slow and advanced causing the audience to feel like they are in the movie or eve; in the object. This also builds suspense and mysteriousness
